Setting goals.

This week a friend of mine showed me a book that she had checked out of the library for her son. It's about Hally Tosis, a happy dog with terribly bad breath. The owners are going to give her away because her breath is so bad. Then her bad breath knocks out a couple of robbers, so the family decides to keep her and everyone lives happily ever after, bad breath and all.

It's very cute, but given my veterinary background, and the fact that the dogs name is a play on the medical term for bad breath. I could not help but be a little disappointed that the story did not end with they decided to keep the dog and also took her to the dentist or started brushing her teeth.

It further established my goal of writing interesting stories that promote responsible pet ownership to children!
