For the longest time, I couldn't write a poem if my life depended on it..
It was like something just woke up inside of me last month when I had the idea to start writing 13 poems in a chapbook, I wanted to try something new.. Something I love as a self publishing author.. You dont HAVE to stick to just one genre.. I started writing poetry last month with my first 13 poems I created "What Dreams are Made Of.." - these poems will always be my favorites.. They came from a part of myself that I had pent up for many years..
I always live by what Ernest Hemingway once said, "Writing is easy, You just sit at the typewriter and bleed.."
For poetry, this is very true for me.. I can't write poetry everyday or I end up feeling depressed.. However, I was able to finish my 36th poem today and am excited to finally be submitting the poems that I have not published to various Poetry Magazines and Contests.
