The Journey Forward...
No shocker to anyone that it's been awhile since I posted here. If you read my last blog (and that's a big if) then you know there have been some changes in my life. As I sat in my living room this morning, cup of coffee in hand, looking out the window - I couldn't believe how fast things have changed for me. This thought brought to mind other occasions in which those some words were uttered. However, when they were uttered in the past, it was between myself and two other close friends as we sat around feverishly working on our scrapbooks. One of us would hold up a picture and then make a comment about how much had changed in a short amount of time. It would then bring on the conversation of where we thought we'd be a year from that moment. Well, a lot has changed for the three of us. Our lives have been scattered across the United States, but I'm still amazed at all the changes that continue to happen in our lives.
Growing up I always knew I'd leave small town Oklahoma. I knew there was a bigger world out there just waiting for me to explore. Well, I did it. I've traveled the world. There are still a lot of places I need to explore, and I will make it happen, but a part of me yearns to settle down somewhere. Find a place to call home. Not such an easy thing to do when you have a spirit that longs to explore. I often hear people talk about how so and so never left home. How they never made it passed the county line, but honestly, sometimes I envy those people. They look genuinely happy. I often wonder what that would feel like. Oh, don't get my wrong, I'm happy in a lot of ways, but again it's that wandering spirit that keeps me from holding my roots firmly to the ground. With that being said, Utah will end up being the longest place I've called home. Not by my choice, but sometimes we have to do what's best for the person we love the most in this world (I'm talking about my son). I would do anything to make him happy and if that means staying in Utah for another 8 years, then so be it. After that, who knows.
In the meantime, I'll keep pressing on. It's been awhile since I've finished a book and believe me it's killing me! I'm working on something new and I want to make sure it's where I want it to be before releasing it. I planned on releasing in August 2017 and that still may happen, but I can promise you I won't release it until I'm 100% happy with it. So, keep an eye open for news about the upcoming book.
In other T.L. Coulter news, I will be attending the For the Love of Books and Dublin author event in Dublin Ireland September 2019. I look forward to this event. I've said it before, Ireland is like going home for me. The land, the people, the very essence of Ireland calls to me and I'm happy to answer the call. Speaking of answering a call, I need to answer the call from my characters. They've grown restless and are now hounding me to finish their story.
As always, thank you for your support. Many Blessings to you all!
