Over the past year I have been working on the first three books in a new series, and I am beyond excited that it is nearly time to publish the first tale. The TURN series follows the exploits of a protagonist the likes of which I have never read about, big game hunter Reed Kimble. Set in the African savanna, this story takes place in one of Earth's most amazing places, and it is filled to the brim with action, intrigue, danger and all sorts of fun. Well, fun for the reader, not so much for Reed Kimble. It all starts when Reed leads a group of big game hunters out for what should be a normal hunt, but it turns deadly when they run into a group of criminals who open fire on Reed's team, forcing them to fight for their lives. When Reed finds uncut diamonds on an assailant's corpse, he has no idea what is coming his way. In the vein of my Parker Chase series, this tale starts out quickly and never lets up, all of it taking place in the enigmatic African savanna. This tale focuses on present-day problems, exposing the seedy underside of a beautiful continent that is all the more heartbreaking because it is true. What happens to Reed happens every day, and I think this story captures the diametrically opposed power and hopelessness that is Africa today. If nothing else, it is one heck of a ride.
