Good Lord woman......I just discovered you days ago and talk about a Pirate's Booty...LOL. I read everything but An Emperor for the Eclipse. I held off only because it was described as a "Space Opera" and I hate cliffhangers, if that will be the case here. It is my opinion that works such as those lose so much of their impact when the flow is interrupted. I prefer to read the serials once all the books have been published, then have myself a good binge....like I did with Devils' Luck. The Eighth House was off the charts great and I would love to see more, expanding on the feel of Kenyon's early works!! In this instance, I felt the book had left me with a sense of completion but at the same time, ripe for new adventures that could be enjoyed sporadically. So back to the original question, what to write next.....I would like to know more about your goals for the series in question, such as how many books you plan and the length of each. Also, if more world building is necessary and it is truly a GOTish type epic fantasy, then I say An Emperor for the Eclipse might be the ticket. If it packs more of a punch than Eighth House, then that is definitely your answer. In all fairness, now I think I just may have to read the first of the series after all to answer this question you have posed with more insight. I can add an addendum if you would like. No matter what you decide, just keep writing...it seems as though you could write a travel brochure and it be mesmerizing...lol.

Whatever source was describing An Emperor for the Eclipse as 'space opera' I can tell you is inaccurate. That would make it something like Star Wars, but this series of mine is fantasy, rather than sci-fi. Low fantasy, so all the races are human and not a lot in the way of crazy creatures like dragons.
After Exile (the series Emperor is part of) is intended to be three books. I know what the whole plot is, and book 2 already has a complete outline, so I'm not stabbing in the dark wondering what to write next. The other two books will each probably be at least as long as the first. Regarding the cliffhangeriness of book 1, I'd say it's medium level. The book definitely ends at a logical stopping point with main characters safe and having solved the first set of major conflicts. But it is obvious there's more story to be told about what these people are going to do next. So maybe that will help you judge whether you want to wait on that series or come back later when the other books are out. :)
As for it 'packing more of a punch than Eighth House', it's hard to compare the two. Emperor is far more complex. There are way more characters. Eighth House is specifically a romance between Hades and Persephone and the whole story focuses on them. Emperor does have romance (more than one couple, actually!), but there is a larger plot of political upheaval tying all these people together.
Your comment about writing a travel brochure may be one of the nicest things anyone's said to me. Thank you for making my day! I'm happy to answer any more questions or just chat any time.

So there I was in kind of a book slump, not really liking anything I was reading when I just so innocently happened to stumble upon Bass-Ackwards. To say I was hooked would be an understatement. I was more engrossed in your writing and characters than I have been in a very long time! I found myself thinking about Bill and Christina while I was pretending to work and I’ve already read the story twice. I’m so happy I’ve caught you almost done with the series because if I had to wait that long between each chapter I’d go crazy. I’m already anxious enough as it is knowing the next chapter won’t be available until summer-ish! So obviously my poll answer would be finish it, woman at all costs for the love of Daisy come on! Buuut since I know you probably like making actual money I’ll just read pretty much everything else you’ve written until I can get my next fix. So happy I’ve found you because I feel like one day I’ll be able to say “oh yeah Eris Adderly I liked her before she was mainstream you posers.” Yeah I plan to be really snobby about it. Can’t wait to dive into your books!
