If you’ve read my blog post Two new books in the works, you’ll know my upcoming title Space Plumber has it’s origins in Stephen King’s book On Writing.

With Space Plumber nearing completion, I asked myself, what if Stephen King actually read it? What would he think of it? I really have no idea, but I imagine it isn’t exactly the type of story he was alluding to in that passage of his book.

I’ll tell you now, it is a very silly story. I had a lot of fun writing it. But I’m going to apologise to Stephen King in advance. If he does read it, I wouldn’t be surprised if the references to ‘plumbers in space’ are removed from future editions of On Writing in case anyone else gets the big idea to write a story about it. I’d also like to apologise to all the plumbers out there. Plumbing is a noble profession and has been since ancient times.
