The Manila Diary

The Manila Diary set

23060ph

My order of The Manila Diary just arrived, and holy camote, it’s gorgeous! It’s a set of 4 beautifully-crafted, undated journals with an equal number of lined and unlined pages, which you can fill in as you please throughout the year. It’s punctuated by 12 lovely postcards and prints which you can give away or (most likely) frame. And how precious are those bronze foil-stamped covers featuring illustrations of the architectural gems of Manila?

This set is made for anyone enamored with the city, and meant to inspire us to create our own adventures/projects/stories/memories. As it says within its pages: “Take a piece of Manila, give a piece of yourself back.”

Take a piece of Manila

I love that my order came with this handwritten note by its maker, Kath Mitra of TwoThirtySixty (@23060ph): “In a city of contrasts, everything may seem chaotic, and gritty, and noisy, but despite all of that there is still beauty in it all. You pay attention to different things, different details, and that’s what makes each of your memories unique. So I urge you to keep looking up, keep looking around. There is so much more to see when you focus your vision and have an open heart.”

I have a feeling this is going to be a beautifully creative year. The Heartbreak Diaries part 2, perhaps?
