Although I’m mainly known for my David Good private investigator books, I do write other stories and one of the things I often do, when I have a spare hour or so, is to write short stories. Not only are these frequently fun to write, they also give me the chance to create stories that simply don’t have the legs to become a novel and to experiment more with my writing.

I’m always looking for new ways to share my work with readers and I’ve decided these short stories I’ve been writing give me another opportunity to do just that. So, I have launched a new section on my website called Shorts in the Dark, where you will find a short story waiting for you to read entirely free of charge. The emphasis is on crime and mystery stories with a darker theme to them than you get with the David Good books, but that will cover a wide range of darker shades and they won’t all be devoid of a little humour.

There will only ever be one story available at a time and once a story has had its turn, it won’t be making another appearance. I want to keep this new section fresh and dynamic. There will be a new story at least monthly.
