Blistering wind ushered her on her way. She heard a scuffle behind her moments before Hank jogged over to block her path so they were toe to toe. He rooted to the concrete in front of her. With a shake of his wavy brown head, he hooked his thumbs into the front pockets of his jeans. His mouth opened as if he was about to speak.
Instead, ZeLisa watched as he bent his head to her level. He kept on course. Faintly, Hank’s warm breath fanned her lips. Next, she felt the pressure he applied there.
