Writing Update
I wrote a blog earlier, but my computer crashed. Seems to be the story of my life lately! Well, here I go again. I hope the computer gremlins stay away long enough for me to get my thought down.
I set up a laptop as my "writing" machine. Not sure if it's going to work out. You know what I'm talking about if you do hours of typing on a system and it's not "right". I hate the "chicklet" button keyboards that most cheaper laptops have nowadays. I might have to go shell out a few bucks to get a decent laptop with an older school push-button style keyboard, more like the desktop keyboard that I use for everything else. Aside from the "feel" of the keyboard, I need a bit of processing power and the ability to save a decent amount of data. Reliability is paramount if I'm going to trust my writing to this thing. I'm not totally sold on this old HP laptop that I'm sprucing up for the job - but you know, beggars can't be choosers! I don't have the money to shell out right now for a nicer machine. I guess that I will just have to make do!
I will be starting work on my new book in the immediate future. I'm looking to begin work on the outline, then flesh out some main points and brainstorm and free-write for a couple of days. Once the framework is set, then I will need to compare my story to the other book timeline and figure out how to make the connection logical and believable. I have some good ideas. We shall see if I can put them down in a coherent fashion!
Anyway, the writing is beginning again, so that means my creative mind will be in the driver seat. Working in IT, that can be a problem! Everyone always wants logic and answers. I won't be that guy for a while!
Thanks for following my writing saga. Please pick up a copy of The Champion of the Golden Queen. It's available in Kindle and paperback formats on Amazon.com com at this link:
