Globally we all seek shelter from the increasing intensity of storms, environmental, political, social and economic extremes building on the horizon. What to do?
In these days of instant news, likely I don't have to tell you. Current events show America gets massive hurricane hammerings, worldwide stock markets dive deep into red, the "Highest Court in the Land" puts in a political wedge, the world grows more deeply divided driving immigrants seeking shelter.
As write this here in New Zealand, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean moat, we are not immune to global events. As a harsh hint to me I was woken last night by high winds and heavy rain pounding our shelter. A reminder that Mother Nature is the unsympathetic leveller of my human ego. Looking back, I have experienced the fury of a Class 4 hurricane with a direct hit on a small island in the South Pacific. As the roof started to lift, I was on my knees bowing to Mother Nature as I sought shelter in the storm.
