When Goblins was first published, back in 2012, it had a fantastic dayglo green cover featuring goblin portraits by Dave Semple. I loved it, and the matching covers for the follow-ups, and they really helped to get the books noticed.
But all things must pass, and it’s time the goblins of Clovenstone had a new look. I was very excited when Scholastic told me who they’d commissioned to provide new covers – Johnny Duddle, the creator of many excellent books about pirates, aliens, and dinosaurs. It turns out he’s just as good at goblins, dwarves, dragons, and giant war-moles – here’s his new cover for Goblins:
…Goblins Vs Dwarves:
…and Goblin Quest:
You’ll be able to find these in bookshops next spring… and Dave Semple’s black-and-white illustrations will still be inside. The gobblinz is VERRY PLEEZED.
