A new reality!

I have discovered yet another new reality...

I was always an avid reader. I had a love of books; something that nurtured my soul. Although before the aneurysm I was mostly reading technical or mystery books. Being in computers I had a love of all things related to computer security and in that industry you must always keep up-to-date with the latest in technology. I was the type of person who could absorb 200 pages in a single evening. And remember most of the material the next day!

But after the aneurysm I discover that reading is very difficult now. My eyes are no longer equipped to follow the text for any length of time. So I have begun to embrace audio books. It has proven to be a lifesaver because I’m still able to nurture my mind while not causing any undue stress. It has become my new reality. At first I rejected the idea of an audio book. I thought it could not feed me the way reading the actual material could, but I have since discovered that this is not true. I get the same pleasure from hearing the book as I would from actually reading the book. I wonder if anyone else feels this way?
