Wow, thanks for the update! So much more to keep an eye out for. Best of luck with the snow in January

Hey, I'll read steampunk if it's steampunk. Otherwise it leaves me pretty indifferent...Sorry, fans, it's just me, I know.
Molly is one of my favorite literary characters. I greatly look forward to hearing from her POV. Awesome!
Also, cartoons tell me that the weather can be controlled by Goliath the gargoyle when he's hopped up on Oden's eye(from the awesome mid '90's Disney cartoon-Gargoyles, the one that sometimes gets compared to Batman? Anyone?), so, I'll have a word with him as soon as someone makes a new Dresden tv series(didn't really dig the Canadian one). And brings back Gargoyles, for that matter- and I mean -bring it back-not remake it like they did with EVERY '80s cartoon EVER! :)
... the first was a Black Company-inspired fantasy series ...I can´t wait to read that, didn´t even hope that somebody would write something like that.
I am only just getting into the Dresden files and Harry is one heck of a guy! I am sure you hear this all the time, but you did a really nice job with him. He is a nicely layered character. I am anxiously anticipating getting into more of your work! As for the snow...come on over to Calgary - we've got lots for you! I've got a great view of the cold and white from my balcony!
I love hearing about your writing and your willingness to share your journey. Very helpful for my own attempts to write (Plug for Celestial Justice). I am a huge fan of the Harry Dresden books and enjoyed the Codex Alera books - the whole elemental magic system was very creative and would love to see what you could do in the Steampunk fantasy realm!
Thank you so much for the time you put into your Novels- I am totally into the Dresden series. Reading something from Molly's POV would super cool!
I am so excited to hear that you are starting the next dresden novel, I am just finishing ghost story now. I love the idea that you will be doing it with the actual snow inspiring you. Also, thank you, you may have just given me some new inspiration for my own visual art using the steampunk idea
Molly's POV! I'm so excited :D I wanna know how she's been doing since the end of Ghost Story, especially after that last battle scene inside her head.
I love Steampunk! And I love your short stories. Though if you stop them for a bit to focus on novels I'll have nothing to complain about. :)
Can't wait to read everything your working on. I'm especially lookgin forward to Molly's short story, Cold Days (for a moment I thougth you'd call it "Dark Knight"), and the new steampunk series. I recently got into steampunk, so the combo of that with my favorite mystery writer make me one happy camper.

I'm with Jeremy. I love Molly and, wow, it was hard to watch her struggle through Ghost Story. Looking forward to her pov.

Looking forward to COLD DAYS. Want to see how H.D. relates to his friends now that he the Winter Knight.
I would love to read a steampunk adventure from you! And a story from Molly's POV that is great. I guess that is why you get paid to do what you do huh.
I am over joyed to find you on this website... you sir, are single-handedly responsible for re-igniting my love for both fantasy and detective novels, in one fell swoop... I am looking forward to reading more of your work, and If you have anything that either you have written, or that you yourself love thats by another author, Id greatly appreciate some suggestions :)

thanks:)
Harry Dresden is the best in sci-fi. TO me the secondbest is ODD THOMAS by Dean Koontz and only 4 books so
far.

Wow, Jim! As someone who has recently been introduced to Harry Dresden, (and might I add, has become addicted!), I am looking forward to reading your other stuff! Steampunk is a genre that recently attempted to write, and failed. So I am looking forward to seeing your take on it!!Keep us posted, yes?

I am loving the Dresden Files novels at the moment. Just broke through the half way mark of Turn Coat. Planning on finishing it tomorrow. I wanna finish the series so I'm ready to read Cold Days when it gets released. I am real stoked :)
My goodreads review:I've been a fan of Jim butcher's Dresden books since the beginning. I've read all 14 books and I'm very pleased with this latest edition Cold Days. Since this book just came out I will try to avoid as many spoilers as possible. Jim Butcher has really grown as a writer with the Dresden books. It is wonderful to see how Harry's life has progressed from the mild Manor wizard and every day Gumshoe investigator to the warden, white knight, and first-class wizard champion that he is become. Like always many of the questions from the previous books have been answered in this edition and many more new questions have been brought to our attention. I'm looking forward to the future installments of the Dresden books. Jim Butcher says that he planned on about a 20 book series for the Dresden books, I hope that because of the complications of life, love, and returning from death that Jim Butcher is able to to extend Harry Dresden's life well past the 20 book series he had planned in the beginning. I've come to love many of the characters along with Harry Dresden and I hope to see in the future Mr. Butcher being able to have spinoffs books of the other main characters like Thomas, Murphy and Molly. I love getting lost in the world of Harry Dresden from the on the edge of your seat action scenes to the emotional heartfelt confessions of Harry's feelings, Jim Butcher is able to bring his characters to life. I can't resist one spoiler: Saint Nick as a battle thirsty hunter, really Jim that was twisted genius way to go.
Cold Days was a satisfying and well-told story and I am excited to see how the consequences of the climactic events will unfold and reverberate in future entries of the Dresden Files.
Sincerely, an admirer of your literature
Leslie
I can't wait to read Cold Days, but other things like moving states has prevented me from reading it on release day and I'd rather be settled properly to enjoy it as thoroughly as it deserves. I'm glad you're getting all of these great book recommendation, really, I am - but if they are distracting from actually, y'know, writing novels, I would rather you WRITE! FASTER!!And... steampunk + Jim Butcher + humor = happy nerd squeal! (and some drool.) Perhaps to get in the mood you could put on some tunes by Abney Park. Airship pirates and clockwork men...
I've been on a, so far, first 8 book Dresden Files non stop streak, and not slowing. Love the books, even watched the show(not much love for the show, no offense, powers that be f'd with the characters and feel you created WAY to much imho, pretty much making it a pathetic shell of the world you've created.) Away from tv, I believe the Dresden Files would be an awesome multi-movie franchise, a perfect line to blend the Harry Potter Gen with the Indian Jones Gen.
As a huge Black Company fan myself, I can't wait to read your BC inspired work. Keep up the great work, and thank you for all the entertainment.
try three years guess he lost interest in blogging maybe he will post something after the next book is released
