Here's a little quote from my latest happily ever after!

“Of course you and I are good,” she says, and then with a wicked smile that could only come from a daughter who belongs to me, she turns to Jed.
 “Are you my new daddy?”


There’s groaning, there’s laughter, and then finally Jed has to interrupt and square my shoulders with the stage.


“Now for the real surprise,” he says in my ear, giving me a squeeze.


I can’t imagine what he’s got planned, but then my brain, my mind, my soul, my spirit and the air in my lungs go bye-bye, because on the stage—somehow on my little rinky-dink stage in my teeny little artist colony town—is…her.


“Um, that’s…no way. No. Way.”
Jed laughs and hugs me from behind.

"Way.” 
I open my mouth to make a sound but nothing comes out.
