Also also, this, so much: "everyone is someone’s version of “the perfect fit,” and all we can do is hope that we find each other at the right time" on so many regards in life ❤️👏
Thanks, Jemina!! Yeah it was a great time. I'm glad I got to hear him speak about his experiences a bit. And I'm so happy with how much our "little" family has grown! I think we've been tremendously enriched by everyone who joins in.And yes, Chuck Wendig delights in mixing the profane with the profound, but I am glad for artists like you who keep creating! Art with all your heart!
!!! "Art with all your heart", now, that I'd wear! And I agree, this community is such a life enriching haven ❤️
Thank you for sharing that, Allison! It's good to get that reminder about impostor syndrome from time to time. That's a very cute photo of you and Delany!
I'm glad you agree, Jemina!! And thanks, Mareike! The woman in front of me had something like a dozen books she wanted signed and I was late to another panel, but he was a good sport about taking a quick snapshot, and I got to tell him how much I loved Babel-17!
In my first year of editing I had no idea what I was doing. 😅 Then I had a very similar experience: Nobody knows! Everyone is questioning and trying things. But we do our best 💜

Getting to tell someone you love their work in person is the best.
So often I learn something new reading your thoughts, that's great! (I've never heard of imposter syndrom before)
I am glad they're somewhat interesting at least, Gabi! There's a great story Neil Gaiman about Impostor Syndrome, too, if you want to read his much funnier story.https://twitter.com/AlanBaxter/status...
Thanks for that wonderful post! And yet another facet of the Lesson I'm learning (again) this week and last: Be and Do, don't try and don't judge, for in the now is when art happens.

Indeed, always keep learning, keep practicing and keep calm. I would myself perhaps leave the expletive out of the last remark, but otherwise agree with the encouragement; art hard! (or/and die trying?)
Lovely to hear of your weekend with parents. Saw glimpses of that (the Delany photo!!!) and was sure we'd get to read more of it here ^^
Also, wow... 25,000!?
