A Year in Review
[image error]Normally I don’t post after December on my blog, but this year has been different. It’s been a whirlwind year and that means one final post before the New Year.
2019 started off with a lot of challenges and things I needed to learn and also accept. I dove headfirst into everything.
Come March I had the pleasure of meeting Stacey Donovan with Hallmark Publishing as well as Cassidy Carter at the book signing and discussion for Love on Location. It was an absolute thrill.
In April my first ever romance novel, Grounded in January (from Brother Mockingbird Publishing) released and I did my best to weave my way through the experience that was so vastly different than when I released my first picture book in 2014.[image error]
Come summer I was preparing for the release of two picture books! Within a few weeks of Winston Versus the Snow (from Brother Mockingbird Publishing) releasing I landed a contract for my novella to be published in an anthology on November 19th (Kissing at Midnight – Seasonal Anthology from Literary Crush Publishing). A few weeks later my third picture book, The Book Who Lost its Title was released with Big Belly Book Co.[image error]
During this massive whirlwind, I did my first ever book signing at Barnes & Nobles. I spoke to parents and kids at a local elementary school, and I received a revise and resubmit request, completing it just after Thanksgiving.
Then the best thing(s) of them all, my books started winning awards!

Winston Versus the Snow won 1st Place for Best Picture Book for under 5 years of age. And it was a finalist in the Book Fest Awards for Soft Cover Fiction Picture Books.
To say I worked my bum off would be an understatement. But I couldn’t have done it alone, and I didn’t. I’m beyond grateful for the support I received from family, friends, the writing community, and of course, readers.
2020 will hold even bigger things and I’m beyond ready! Be sure to check back in January hear about all the exciting new bookish things!![image error]
Wishing you all a joyful rest of your year and a perfect start to your New Year.
