Within Love Story, you will find quotes from my small-town novels. Some are songs. Some are letters. And some are words right from the characters' mouths. Along with these quotes, however, you will also find poems that were, until now, handwritten and tucked inside the pages of an old journal. I wrote most of them on a little, secluded beach on Sullivan's Island in South Carolina. I was younger, entranced by the warm, salt water, reflective and dreaming of home.
