A Damned Shame - The book that almost wasn't

So, A Damned Shame is out now. I've got to say, it's my personal favorite, which is funny, because it wasn't planned.

Originally, the Warlock series was to be five books. Then I added in Santa Demon, cheating by sneaking in a novellette.

Things kept going on schedule after that, but then I realized I really needed to get a solo Bert book out there. Not for fans, as much, but because he takes up so much space in my head.

I wrote his book, Hell of a Party, as a spin-off, of sorts. It was going to be book 3.5, I think, but Amazon wouldn't link it to the main series, and many people couldn't find it. We folded it into the main series, and incorporated Hell into the story more prominently.

Singapore Spirits featured Hell even more, and by the time it came to write Tokyo Kaiju, I realized how much story I needed to wrap up in Hell first.

Thus, A Damned Shame, book 6 of a five book series, was born. This one switches between Mark and Bert as the story goes on, and I think it works really well. By the time it ended, we were finally set for book 7, which I'll be working with John on pretty soon.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy A Damned Shame as much as I did writing it. Playing around and being flexible resulted in a much richer world for Mark and company to play in, and I think you'll all enjoy how the story wraps up in book 7.
