Yes, the supermarket experience is a strange one. Here, it is mandatory to wear a mask in shops, and we have the floor arrows as well. It's just plain weird. It used to be an event to go shopping. You could count on little chats here and there in the isles about the quality of the tomatoes or which no-sugar-added peanut butter was best, etc. Now, everyone is hunkered down in their own zone, no eye contact. It's a very hostile feeling. Even the once friendly clerks, are now "all-business" behind their plexiglass shields. Che mondo!

It used to be an event to go shopping. ..."You're right. I now view supermarket shopping as a mission to find what I need, and get out. Finding a rare commodity is now a cause to celebrate.
