Breaking From Becmane

As those of you who follow me on the Book of Faces and Gram of Instants are already aware, I'm presently working on Becmane 5. How far along am I? About.... halfway through the second draft. Which is TERRIBLY behind schedule, but... I'll get back on track eventually.

I have enjoyed writing these books; they've been equal parts expressive and therapeutic. I've worked out a lot of personal issues through John, and I don't know where I'd be without the man. That said... I'm five books in, and its been quite a bit since I reread any of my previous Becmane novels, which means that I honestly don't know how far away I've strayed from where I started. There was meant to be some change in his character from book-to-book, but I need to make sure I haven't gone out too far into the deep end, both with him and every supporting character.

So, after I'm finished with all of my drafts of Becmane 5, I am going to take a break and not dive head-first into Becmane 6. A gentleman out of Ohio reached out to me for assistance on a book, and he proposed that perhaps we co-write this book together. It's his first foray into the world of writing, and I'd like to help him realize how capable he is of doing this on his own.

I'm not totally done with Becmane's story. Heavens no, I'll be writing at least two more books for him. But I do need this time to reread his narrative up until now.
