Hmm. The politics of it could be interesting. Would selecting a non-magical creature be seen as a faux-pas in pure-blood circles, others assuming a wizard is a Muggle-world lover? Or could it symbolise the favourite sacrificial offering to their chosen god/goddess? I see Harry wanting to avoid the issue by selecting something more neutral and out of the box, such as a mask of the moon and stars or something that hints to him being a Traditionalist, but not overtly so.

Someone being the Tree of Life could be cool with added magical touches.

Lady of Silver Dawn has some great ideas. I was thinking that maybe people would wear masks related to their patronus, their animagus form or their family's heraldic animal. I'm sure more magical masks would be a thing too but if I was a witch with an animagus form I'd totally wear a mask that referred to it as a bit of a flex. :D The patronus theme is the same idea, a good way to show you're a powerful witch or wizard and the heraldic animals to show family pride.
