A grandmother’s heart is not sappy.  It is strong and has perspective.  We spoke with Roshi Joan about the moral suffering that doctors, nurses and clinicians are feeling in 2020.  She reminds us that contemplative practice allows us to bear witness, but NOT to bypass or “zen out” from our moral challenges.
