Horns of the Hunter – 2nd Draft Finished/Beta time!

Word up, all, I hope you’re all doing super.

Behold another writing update.

It’s been a while! My apologies, I’ve been working almost non-stop the last 2 and a bit months on redrafting Horns of the Hunter, and, I’m delighted to say, the 2nd draft is finished!

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve had a book so far advanced down the writing process (not since mid 2017 with Scars of the Sand!), so it honestly feels great to see Horns of the Hunter taking shape. I was aiming to release the book this year, however it’s going to be early in 2021, unfortunately, as the book turned out to be a lot longer than I’d thought it would be, as there was just too much story to pack into it. I also had to get to grips with implementing some very relevant alpha reader feedback in the 2nd draft, which included a near-full rewrite of the last 3rd, which needless to say, slowed me down by a hell of a lot.

But, 2nd draft is done and the book is progressing. I’ll be sending off beta reading copies to everyone who’s kindly offered to beta for me this time round very soon! I’ve also got the finished cover work through (it’s awesome) and I’m waiting for the design work to begin on the cover.

While I’m waiting for the above and for beta feedback, I’m going to continue work on the follow up to Horns of the Hunter that I began to toy with a month or so ago, and also resume work on the much overdue (sorry) The Wretched Ones – a.k.a., Tales of the Blackshield Dogs #3. This is a series of mine I cherish and have had so much fun writing, its galled me to leave it so long between releases, especially with #3, as it’s one whose themes are pretty near and dear to me. Hopefully, as a shorter work, the writing process for this one will be smooth and I can have it out ASAP.

Also, I’m intending on beginning The Weaving Shadows Book 3 towards Christmas now I’ve had a good old rest from the series to recharge the arl batteries and what have you.

So, for now I’ll sign out again with my current choice in writing music, the dark and crushing Slayer of Holofernes by the abrasive awesomeness that is Venom Prison.

Enjoy, I’ll be back soon with a progress update on Horns of the Hunter, plus where I’m up to with the above.

Word.
