January 2021: Curiosity
As we kick off 2021, I am marking a change in my professional life - making a choice to send a Monthly newsletter rather than a more frequent one. It wasn't a decision I made lightly. And I like this opportunity to be transparent about the behind the scenes thought process a life coach and author makes
Most business coaches would tell me that to connect (and hopefully sell) I need to show up MORE. But because I've always valued connection over sales,
I hope that showing up less allows a deeper connection to those lovely people who have granted me permission to show up in their in-box.
This is my theory: reducing the amount of email someone gets from me offers both of us a chance to virtually sit together and savor our time rather than the cursory same-old-same-old note that in the vein of what I've been sending out since 2011.
When I sat down and begin imagining what this would look like, I brainstormed what would be useful, fun, and allow us to go a little deeper. My goal: provide good ideas, practical tools, inspiration, and solid strategies to love yourself and your life.
And my biggest hope is that every single section of the new monthly newsletters feels like a hug. (Or a kick in the pants if that's what someone is needing).
One of the ways I hope to do this is by choosing a theme for each month. And this month: Curiosity.
When we approach our life - especially our perceived failures - with an attitude of curiosity rather than self-flagellation - it opens the path to compassion and grace. Not only is this a good way to do your inner work, it will help make life more interesting as you do common daily tasks.

This is also where a Sense of Wonder can be helpful, too. As children we were often curious about the world while also being awed and amazed. It allowed us to access joy and to stimulate our growing minds. And, taking that attitude can also help you be more mindful, which has shown to reduce stress and anxiety.
And I honestly believe that this allows us to better focus on what we need to create a daily life that is loving and nourishing.

In addition to including a love note, some favorite things, a reminder to connect with your Word of the Year, and a recipe I have on repeat, I also included some favorite (downloadable) quotes about Curiosity. And wanted to share them here with you.
If you'd like to read the January 2021 love note in full, you can do so here.
And, if you'd like to receive my Monthly Love Note, sign up here. You'll also receive my free E-Book - A Touchstone For Your 2021 Journey: The In-Depth Guide to Revealing Your Word of the Year .
Here's to following our threads of curiosity and seeking a sense of wonder in 2021.
