When we think of being in love, most of us think of being in love with a significant other. This can be a main source of love but it doesn’t have to be (most likely shouldn’t be) the only source.

When you have multiple sources of love, when one source may be experiencing a dry season, you have other sources to lean on for nourishment. Each source may come and go but they all are streams that fill the same ocean that provides us life.

Our cups are made of multiple and distinct layers to make us feel rich and full. It’s when we have expectations from one layer to fill our entire cup that can cause issues. No one person can or should be the center of your universe. A healthy and happy version of ourselves radiates when we find how to give and receive love from the various people in our lives.

There’s a balance between giving and receiving love that we need to discover. It’s a give-and-take relationship where if we take more than give, then disharmony appears. The people around us start to feel exhausted and perhaps even taken for granted. Many of us find more joy in giving than receiving and love is one area that truly benefits from this perspective.

We are a boundless energy of love that is continually replenished through:

Love from our significant other.
Love from our family.
Love from our friends.
Love from our community.
Love from ourselves.

Love of the little moments that paint a smile across our faces and laughter in our bellies.
Love of the triumphant and not so triumphant stories which had to be written to get to where we are.
Love of the incredible person we’ve become to get to where we’re going.
Love of the daydreams that inspire us towards a brighter life.
Love of the possibilities of each day so we can connect on a deeper level with others.

Remember to recognize and appreciate all the sources of love surrounding you. Replenish yourself in the streams that flow at the present moment and know you are loved.
