Time Flies

Yes I'm still alive! I didn't realize how long I've been gone but to be fair I don't know that we should count 2020 as actual time passed. I'm still losing track of days, or even what month we're in.
Through all of the 2020 crazy (my day job hours were brutal, but I am also amazingly grateful to have had stable employment through (hopefully) the worst of the plague) I've been sporadically working on my next release. There was a side quest to prep Lilith's Love for the anniversary release. I really should have posted about the 10th anniversary! We have a beautiful new cover and had things worked out we may have had a party of some sort to celebrate. (Also in that mix, have you seen the updated website? www.ericadanekes.com)
But, we never know where life will take us. Case in point, tonight I sat down to write a scene I'd started last week, have to give my girl some depth of character and give you a peek into her world. And somehow that lead me into researching ancient Egyptian temples. Now, if you've been keeping up, you know my vampires are descended from the Egyptian moon god Yah. . . but that's not the series I'm working on at the moment, so why am I going to Egypt again? Because they told me to! I didn't intend to, and I fought against it a bit, but when the goddess(es) speak, you'd better listen! They'll make you if you don't! But, I'm actually excited about this twist I threw myself as it reflects the story line far better than the original "unknown pharaoh" would have. Why wouldn't Pharaoh Hatshepsut, the Holiest of Holies, be given the honor/responsibility of a sacred treasure? Which is a question our hero eventually asks. Is this whole ramble relevant? Of course it is! Just how relevant is something you'll just have to wait to find out.
