1/22/22 - Destin Cantin
Welcome to the WymerNovels blog. Today, I will continue my blog series about the main characters in each of my books. Be warned that this blog post has spoilers. I will be discussing Destin Cantin. He is the main character of Lightyears II: Intragalactic Terrorism.
You first meet Destin after the Battle of Shoon. He is a man with light brown hair and is the sole survivor of the battle that takes place at the Great Plain of Shoon in the desert sands of Kas (formerly known as Kaskoon). Destin is the leader of the Civil Resistance’s Kas operations…and the last member left alive on Kas. They were fighting the Immortal Cantin Empire troops (ICE Troops). The empire is ruled by his distant relatives with the same surname.
His father, Thatril, died when he was a boy. His mother, Merisa, left the Civil Resistance and married the leader of the Kaskar Terrorist Organization (KTO). Destin never understood why she did that. He was close to his paternal grand parents, Jerell and Kareen. Unfortunately, they had perished in the Battle of Shoon. He had also lost his sister, Aarin, and his great grandmother, Phasheena, to the murderous actions of the Thisis Militia. The only person he has left on Kas is his wife, Arcacio, and a wolfdog named Cosmos.
Together, they flee to the remote moon of Forestica and hide in a cabin that his grandpa, Jerell, had built. When it is safe, they continue on their journey to meet with the head of the Civil Resistance on Nytoorion. On Nytoorion, at an intoxication joint called Stone Shelf, Destin has an unexpected meeting with his great great grandfather, Roedie Cantin. Together, they help the leader of the Civil Resistance, Remyw Yortis, in the Dark War against the Immortal Cantin Empire and the terrorist organizations that litter the BlueMar Galaxy. After freedom is restored to the BlueMar Galaxy, Destin becomes leader the new Civil Government. Destin and Arcacio have a baby boy and name him Roedie II, after his great great great grandfather.
Although Destin in not exactly the main character in Lightyears III: Ominous Intervention, he still has an important roll. Destin prepares his twenty-year-old son, Roedie II, for leadership of the Civil Government. Destin also helps a man named Sitell to protect the galaxies from impending doom.
