My favourite quote about von Neumann (and there are many that testify to his enormous intelligence) is the one that kicks off the Introduction to 'The Man from the Future':‘Von Neumann would carry on a conversation with my three-year-old son, and the two of them would talk as equals, and I sometimes wondered if he used the same principle when he talked to the rest of us.’
