Went to a book fest today. While it was nice to see other authors, the most important people I met were educating about suicide prevention. They paint rocks with positive messages and give them away. They reach out to groups of at-risk kids and have painting workshops. After 12-year-old Evie took her own life, her friends and family founded Tiny Evie Rocks.

We talked about the fact The Reluctant Mage deals with suicidal ideation, depression, addiction, and more. Not just with one character. There's a list of resources in the back of the book.

When I left, group members were going over the free copy of TRM I gave them and exclaiming about the list of resources in the back. I told them Bob McGough, author of the Jubal County Saga, does the same thing.
