The drive came back.

Oh, how I get wordy. As a discoverer rather than an outliner, I got to work on my next book, The Hurricane Boys.

While not an outliner, I had a clear path in my head. The characters, alas, had a different idea. I'm 60,000 words in and maybe halfway through.

This means I have to kill some puppies. Not real puppies, of course, but in the second draft I'll need to compress a lot of stuff.

I'm disciplined enough to finish the first draft, no matter how long it takes me to reach the end.

Oh, to be Stephen King so I could write 120,000 words and still sell it.

Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed Amazon printing costs have gone way up?

Almost forgot to mention, I broke Me and the Maniac up into three books, To the Moon, Alice!, Officers and Aliens, and Off to Save the Universe!

Good times.
