The writing of Isabella Warrior Queen tells the story of Princess Isabella of France and her husband King Edward II of England, their children and the fact that he was bisexual and openly prefered the company of his male 'favoutites' to that of his wife. After one male favourite was killed and replaced by Hugh le Despencer the Younger, an intense homosexual affaiir developed between the king and his chamberlain.
