In the late 1960s, most crash pads rocked this “TV set for hippies.” Invented in Britain as a fashionable curiosity in 1963, the Lava Lite lamp caught on big-time among young U.S. stoners who often found themselves spellbound by its languid movements. Today, most would probably say this crash pad fixture was much more interesting when stoned.

, follows the madcap travails of two flaky hippies on a spur-of-the moment road trip who stumble onto a multiple murder and become the prime suspects.
