I'm very excited to finally get going on Goodreads. In December St. Martin's Press will publish my latest book GOD SAVE BENEDICT ARNOLD: The True Story of America's Most Hated Man.
Tom Clavin described the book as "A full and fascinating portrait of a true hero of the American Revolution . . . riveting." Matthew Pearl called it "a fascinating page-turner."

In a time when statues are coming down and historical icons are being questioned, a new look at America's most famous traitor is overdue. If you think you know Benedict Arnold, this book will make you think again.

I urge all readers to check out my Substack newsletter, which offers free history essays and updates on my work. Find it here:

Debra Pawlak Hello, Mr. Kelly!

I just wanted to tell you that I read Valcour and thoroughly enjoyed every page. I also have an arc of your new book thanks to NetGalley.com and am looking forward to reading it. My writing partner and I just published a novel set during the Revolutionary War. It's a retelling of the Fanny Campbell story and we are now working on another historical novel centered on the life of Moll Pitcher, the famous Psychic of Lynn, Massachusetts and a real person. It is a fascinating period in American History that I am afraid most people know little about. Best of luck to you!

Jack Kelly Thanks, Debra. I'm hopeful that GOD SAVE BENEDICT ARNOLD can finally get the real Arnold story across. Fanny Campbell and Moll Pitcher both seem to offer promising material. I'm writing a weekly Substack of history nuggets (Talking to America) while I work on my next book that focuses on Tom Paine in the Revolutionary War. Keep up the good work,
Jack

Debra Pawlak Thomas Paine is a great subject! I will look forward to reading that book, too! My personal Revolutionary War hero is John Glover. My writing partner and I visited Lynn and Marblehead while doing some research and we found his grave up on Old Burial Hill. They sure didn't teach us any of this in school!
