A Shift In Consciousness

Six months later, over one hundred students seated in an amphitheater classroom awaited the arrival of the professor. The gathering was a mixture of graduate students who’d majored in various professional disciplines.
Printed on the far left of a long blackboard behind the podium was an untitled list of ominous conditions. The listed conditions included systemic greed, global financial collapse, ecological degradation, virulent terrorism, perpetual war, pandemic disease, genocide, regional famine, massive poverty, depletion of natural resources, governmental corruption, hate crimes, and the greenhouse effect on global warming.
Ben entered the classroom from stage right, walked to the podium, and placed his notes on it. He looked up at the audience, then turned to the blackboard and announced, “We cannot solve the problems with the same thinking used when we created them, Albert Einstein.” He walked to the blackboard and quickly printed the paraphrased quote below the list. At the side of the list, Ben printed Professor Benoit.
