Have you ever started researching a book or a project only to find yourself down a rabbit hole of new exciting ideas? Well, that just happened to me. While learning all I could about essences for my next book, I fell in love with creating scents from essential oils. The process is engrossing, a little addictive, a lot expensive, but completely rewarding. And now, I can write with much more precision about the scents, the textures, the dry down times, the sillage. I'm no expert, of course, but I have a much clearer understanding of the process after setting aside my book learning and actually doing. I'm hopeful this new knowledge will reflect in the quality of my descriptions in my work in progress. Would love to hear if you have had a similar experience with your projects!
