Every one of us is born under a spell.

This spell gives us our name, determines our physical body, writes the blueprint of our heritage, and chooses which souls we will be raised by. It is a spell we call, birth.

As we grow, the spell grows with us. We test its bonds and are told it does not exist. As time goes on we are more and more convinced that we are the spell... Until we learn to cast a spell of our own.

Our own spell of self-actualization collides with the spell of birth, creating chaos within. We fight with our families, challenge their ideals, and push our boundaries.

There are many endings to this struggle. As many as there are souls in the universe. Mine led me to write stories that challenge the spells of birth and push us a little closer to the magic within ourselves we ache to unleash.
