I decided to jump in the water with Amazon/Audible and take them up on their offer to use an artificial (AI) narrator to read my latest book, Mock Reach. I'm not sure how this new style of narration will be received... it's definitely not as good as a real person reading it, but it's so new that I couldn't pass up the chance to be a part of it.
I plan to record all of my books myself, even this one, and replace the soulless version of it that exists on Audible now, but it could take years. Everything in this business is expensive. I plan to build a small audio studio to record my books, and I will, but it's a daunting project. If you're interested in reading Mock Reach in audio form and don't want to wait, I would suggest trying out the AI version. It's amazing how good it is, but it would be at least incrementally better if I read it.
