At 14 years old my role model was Monkey D. Luffy. Yes, that one. I loved chaos, doing whatever I wanted, and following a dream while extinguishing worries from my head.

I still love all of these things, but I’ve learned that our world is quite unlike the One Piece world. Besides, even Luffy has gotten more complex over the years, especially after the marineford arc.

Nowadays, I create plans. I just started working on one today for how I will sell books in 2024.

Do you know why I changed how I do things? It’s quite simple, really. Over the years, I have tried doing things the luffy way, and I have also tried being a lone-wolf type who lets others do whatever they want, so long as they do not involve me.

And you know what happened? Their webs entangle me. I have learned that if you are always living your life according to somebody’s plans. It’s just a question of whether they’re your plans, or whether they are somebody else’s plans.

My message to you, the free spirit out there: Think things through, and exert your will upon the world before the world exerts its will upon you. This is the only way to maintain your freedom.
