I started this book some years back and when I got to where Halli finally faces reality i put the book somewhere. It was slow for me but being one who always wants to see things through I picked it up again.
It starts slow. Halli is a character you don't immediately like but as the story progresses and he is doused with reality, his motivations as a person grows and matures. Over the course of the books you realise that story parallels our world. As humans we are so fixated with the past we refuse to move on. The ending might not be what you expect but it is worth it. If there is onething this story teaches then it's that reality can be far different from fantasy and tales.
