How to Stand Firm and Avoid a Pitfall
Y’all I am going to confess that sometimes I get so consumed about getting my way that I not only fail to see the pitfall, sometimes I fall into a pit that I actually created in the first place. I collapse into the pit of my fear and disappointment. I give way to doubt and bitterness. I trip right into a black hole of stubborn pride and resistance of own making. I mean I should have seen it coming. I may not be able to control my circumstances, but I can certainly determine how I will respond. And sometimes I just keep moving forward without taking the measured steps I need to take to ensure that I am standing on the firm foundation of God’s Word and not being led blindly forward by my flesh where I end up falling flat on my face into a pit of defeat.
So this is our last week in Proverbs, and I discovered 3 principles from God’s book of wisdom in Chapter 28 that are helping me figure out how to stand firm and avoid a potential downfall. If you are prone to pitfalls like me, I hope you’ll find these helpful.
