Phillies’ Lorenzen no-hits Nats — first vs. franchise since move to D.C.

The Philadelphia Phillies Michael Lorenzen no-hit the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night, marking the first no-hitter against the franchise since its move to D.C.

Lorenzen, pitching in just his second game since his trade from Detroit, struck out five and walked four as the Phillies topped the Nats 7-0.

The Washington Nationals franchise was last no-hit in 1999 when they were the Montreal Expos, when David Cone tossed a perfect game at Yankee Stadium on July 18, 1999.

The last Phillies no-hitter was in 2015, when Cole Hamels tossed a Wrigley Field gem against the Chicago Cubs.
