Number 1 Royal Crescent, Bath

As well as being one of the best museums around, Number 1 Royal Crescent is home to the fictional Featherington family in Bridgerton (well, the outside of the building at least – I believe the interiors are filmed elsewhere).

Number 1 is also home to the Templeton family in my Regency Romance series The Heart of Bath.

Book 1 of the series, Lost and Found, is the story of the romance between Henry Templeton and Kitty Honeyfield. Henry’s family home is Number 1, and Kitty lives with her parents just around the corner in Russel Street.

When we first encounter the pair, they are meeting in secret in an alleyway near Milsom Street.

“…a secret meeting – an unspoken love…”

Much of the action in the three books takes place in Number 1 (even on the roof on occasions), and as the drama unfolds, other houses in the Crescent also become an important part of the story.

If you haven’t visited Number 1 Royal Crescent, you have a treat in store. It is full of treasures, endlessly fascinating, and staffed by extremely helpful and knowledgeable enthusiasts. The gift shop’s great as well.

You can even have your wedding reception inside this magnificent house – which is exactly what various members of the Templeton family do in The Heart of Bath.

Lost and Found, Book 1 in The Heart of Bath, is now available to pre-order as an ebook on Amazon for 99c/78p here. It will be published on 21st June, when a paperback version will also be available.
