In 1980, Christopher Williams and I published the first textbook for GI endoscopy

We were working at The Middlesex and St Marks Hospitals in London. My photo of The Middlesex was taken after it closed (it lives on as part of UCL). My Unit was on the second floor, here shown boarded up. St Marks also closed and has been reborn several times, now at Central Middlesex.

 

 

New editions followed every few years

And we just welcomed the eighth edition.

You will notice that there are now 6 authors. Most of the work has been done by Catharine Walsh (Sick Kids hospital in Toronto) and Ahmir Ahmad (St Marks, London). Assisted by Brian Saunders (St Marks) and Jon Cohen (NYU, New York)
