Why do writers write?
The incessant age-old question that never ceases to amaze me...
Well, why do birds fly? Why do Cocks crow? Why? Why? Why?
Contemplation is key. It's not about the answer, it's about the journey of thought. It's about the difference between a great writer and a successful writer, and the nuances that make them unique.
Don't worry, I'm not here to judge. I'm here to share my thoughts and insights, and I'm eager to hear yours.
Great writers never stop thinking. When they see a weird person pass by, they immediately fit in a plot to flush out dialogue to fit the passerby. When they hear a strange sound, it conjures a setting where someone is probably scared to death, and on and on.
Successful writers, on the other hand, fret about reviews, promotions, sales, royalty, and other 'silly' things.
But can you be both successful and great?
