I hope this will bring you some new readers, Ross. It's a book that deserves to be read. It certainly taught me a great deal about epilepsy and more than that, it's very inspirational.
By writing a book about epilepsy, which is not geared exclusively towards the medical community has reached people with and without epilepsy. Thanks again Maria, for sharing my story.
Great choice, Maria! Ross' book is an exceptional example of courage and inspiration, highlighting the intense frustration of years of misdiagnosis and confusion. I'm delighted you chose BEYOND MY CONTROL and appreciate all that you do to support your fellow indie authors. :-D
lol, don't worry Julie, I'll get around to it... sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of books to read... I'll interview you again when I've read it :) BTW, if you ever want to do a guest post on my blog you're always welcome.
That would be great, thanks - maybe when you've finished the trilogy, it could be featured? Guest spot - what would you need?
I know what you mean by drowning in books - although I like to support other Indie authors especially, it can mean not having enough time to write.
Just to mention - hey, can resist a plug - Figments is free atm for 5 days, Of Sound Mind is only 77p and the rest of my books have been lowered to great prices.
Thanks, Maria, you're the best and please don't feel pressured (much) about reading any of mine :)
Hi Maria, I read your review of this book and it is indeed inspirational and thought provoking. Thanks for bringing this book to the forefront of all readers on Goodreads. I was wondering... my latest book 12 Precious Anecdotes from Life is about the miracles of nature and life's insights and never giving up in face of life's pradicaments. It is of the contemporary fiction genre, and has a touch of adventure, inspiration and thought provoking themes. If you would be interested to go through my book, I can send you a pdf file. My book is currently enrolled in Amazon KDP Select program.
I am very happy to come across like minded readers as you on Good reads. Please let me know, I only wanted to share my work with you.
Thanks
Payal Roy
Hi Payal, I'm glad you like the review. Thank you. Your book sounds like something I would like to read, but I don't like pdf files as they're hard to read on a Kindle. If your book is in the KDP Select, let me know when it goes free and I'll download it. I can't promise to read it soon, though, as I have about 100 books waiting on my Kindle to be read :)

Julie, I will definitely interview you again after I finish Secrets of The Ice. What I was thinking was, if you have any announcements in the meantime, you could write a paragraph or two (or more if you like) and I'll post it as a guest post on my blog. Just email me anything you want. I wouldn't allow just anyone to take over my blog, but you're one of my faves :)
Aw, thank you.The only things going on at the moment are the freebie of Figments, the special on Of Sound Mind and the lower prices on the rest of my books. Oh yes, and there was that terrifying experience on the radio - gee, stress levels are still high lol

Maria, thank you again for choosing BEYOND MY CONTROL by Stuart Ross McCallum. I do hope people will check out this extraordinary memoir.
Hi Maria, way to go for surgery for your heart--when will it occur? I recently had a close friend die due to a heart problem so it's smart to take care of yourself. How cool that an indie author helped you arrive at that decision.

I had the op to cure my SVT on 1st December 2010 and am pleased to report that I haven't had any SVT attacks since then. I'm told that it's 'cured'. The anxiety that went with having the condition for so many years does still plague me from time to time, but I'm doing well considering the trauma (hopefully people will bear with me when I act like a freak on occasion... it's just the latent anxiety at work lol). I think I'm almost learning to trust that it won't happen again and that's a good feeling. I always said I wouldn't wish SVT on my worst enemy, it literally felt like I would die each time I had an attack... If you're interested in reading more about my experience, I wrote a blog in December last year: http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...
Anyway, Ross's bravery in his battle with Epilepsy was a major deciding factor for me to go ahead with the op. There was a risk I would end up having to have a pacemaker fitted, risk of stroke, death etc... but my decision to go ahead was definitely helped by Ross's book. It seemed to come in to my life at just the right time.

Maria,Thank you for the wonderful interview with Ross. He is an awesome man, with tremendous strength and character. His book Beyond my control has really opened my eyes to Epilepsy, what he went through, all that he has endured. He is my rock and strength in my medical situation. But Ross I won't steal your thunder this one is all about you!
If you have not read it yet I highly recommend you do.
