I just got the email today: Amazon is shutting down their Kindle Vella platform starting in December with the goal of it being completely dismantled by February 2025.

It just figures that as soon as I announce my publishing changes as being focused on that platform from now on, they decided to go and shut it down. I’m beyond disappointed by this news, but I guess they have to do what’s best for their company.

I am so sorry for anyone who might’ve taken my advice to start publishing on Vella for the better royalties pay—I had no idea this was going to happen!

If you’d like to check out a competitive platform, I know many bestselling Romance authors use Radish for their serialized fiction. I’ll also be checking them out, along with other avenues—and, of course, update you on my experience.

Unfortunately, I’m as of yet unaware of a good platform for other genres, but I’ll let you know when I find them!

Again, I apologize for this unexpected news and hope it doesn’t cause too much discouragement in your publishing journey. I’m going to go lick my wounds and figure out what to do with all these serialized stories now…
