Novella!

Hi everyone,

I've just finished writing the first draft of my next book which will be a novella! The idea for it has been hanging around for years...before I started writing Aventurine Heart even! So I'm really happy it's done...well the bones of it anyway. Tons of editing and polishing is next up before it's fit for public viewing.
I can tell you the what the title is though...........WARD 3...

It's a horror/thriller set in a psychiatric hospital in Fortraven (yep there again).
I'll let you know when I have a release date in mind.

In the meantime I've also been writing a book of short stories- horror/thriller mostly too. So look out for some sneak previews over the coming weeks!

Cheers,
Carole.

Frank Wood I've just received Adventurine from Amazon and have read the prologue and first chapter.

Narrative flows well and ensures an easy read plus the descriptive scenes easily bring up pictures in my mind.

So far so good!

Congrats on finishing your second book. Editing is always more than you think it should be but it's a challenge some might even say fun lol.

Frank

Carole Wood Thanks Frank, hope you enjoy the rest of it! I should be starting work on a follow-up soon.

Editing is a challenge but it's always worth it in the end!

Carole.

Frank Wood I've finished Aventurine Heart. Initially I was going to regulate myself because I've got quit a lot on my plate but the pace of the plot just kept me on reading so I finished far quicker hence the dark circles under my eyes and some pretty strange dreams!

Frank Wood Maybe Fortraven will be the home for many more novels, just as Newford is the home for many of Charles de Lint's urban phantasy novels?

Carole Wood I'm glad you enjoyed it Frank, sorry for causing you to stay up half the night!
Fortraven will be my Derry, a lá Stephen King I think. A weird and wonderful place with a dark undercurrent, inspired partly by Enniscorthy.
