World Building
A Lesson for ALL Fiction Writers
Warm up for the LA Book Festival with this panel on World Building
April 19, 2025 @ 1pm to 3pm
Sherman Oaks Martin Pollard Branch Library
4412 Tyrone Ave, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403
Whether you write about a distant galaxy, a fantastical world that never existed, or your own hometown, you’ll have to do some world building for your reader. We will discuss physical settings as well as political, social, and technological/magical systems. There will be a video on planet building (how to create a place that’s not Earth), Q&A with our panelists, opportunity for the audience to ask questions, readings from our panelists, and an author meet and greet.
