The Limits of Free Speech: A Cultural Perspective
India’s got Latent or Besharm? My take on the Ranveer Allahbadia Samay Raina controversy

Right to freedom of speech and expression, assembly, association or union, movement, residence, and the right to practice any profession or occupation (some of these rights are subject to the security of the State, friendly relations with foreign countries, public order, decency, or morality).
This is a direct copy-paste from the e-Constitution of India and not my version of it!
It is for those who are hailing this as a violation of free speech. To those half-learned wokies and forebears of the French Revolution… the Right to Freedom of Speech was never absolute in any democratic country—to protect public safety.
Those who are advocating this, I want to know if freedom of speech and democracy imply the following:
=> Aping the West and completely tossing aside the Indian cultural context?
=> Normalizing talking with abuses, F-words, sexual slangs, racial slurs, and rampant perversion in the name of humor?
=> Free access for children of all ages to such content because it’s the digital era and there should be no restriction on freedom of speech?
Lastly, those who are saying—”Is there no other issue like women’s safety or Manipur to talk about?”—by your own dumb logic… Is it okay to simply eve-tease someone, but it’s not a mudda of women’s safety because it’s just verbal? And come on… Freedom of speech. Similarly, those who were crying about Manipur burning have no issues if the show makes racial jokes about people from the Northeast because, hey—Freedom of speech
